From July 14 to 18, the Pavilhão Desportivo dos Lombos will host the 2025 edition of the Neemias Queta Training Camp, a high-performance camp that brings together young talent, professional experience, and a clear mission: to train the next generation of hoopers.
There will be five intense days of training, focusing on the technical, tactical, and mental development of 100 young athletes aged 13 to 17. The camp will feature internationally recognized coaches and professionals, led by Neemias Queta — the first Portuguese player to play in the NBA and the first male Portuguese champion of the league, with the Boston Celtics.
The program includes:
Daily sessions from 9 AM to 6 PM
High-level coaching with insights from the NBA
A technical team of 8 to 10 coaches
A support team with physiotherapists, media crew, and operations
50 boys and 50 girls selected for their commitment and potential
This is not just a training camp. It is an experience designed to prepare young people for the challenges on and off the court, with access to mentors who know the path to the top.
2024: When champion Neemias Queta came home
In the 2024 edition, held from August 13 to 16, Neemias Queta returned to Portugal with an unprecedented title: that of NBA champion with the Boston Celtics. Just a few months after conquering the most competitive league in the world, Neemias was back in the gym to invest in the future of national basketball.
The 2024 camp featured 40 young athletes (20 boys and 20 girls) and a strong technical team. Present were Carlos Barroca, former vice president of NBA Asia and international development specialist, Carlos Andrade, former player of the Portuguese National Team, as well as Gilda Correia, Bernardo Pires, Isabel Lemos and other professionals of excellence.
Over four days, the young participants experienced an intense journey of learning, inspiration, and growth. The 2024 edition proved that the Neemias Queta Training Camp is more than just a training camp: it is a turning point for those who take basketball seriously.
